Party for Perennial raises over £32K and kicks off HortAid 2017

The Party for Perennial 2017, hosted by Perennial’s Chairman Dougal Phillip and designer and broadcaster James Alexander-Sinclair at The Barbican Centre on 19 January, raised over £32,000 for the horticulture industry’s occupational charity and gave Perennial’s annual HortAid campaign a huge kick start. The total raised was made up of event sponsorship, ticket sales, the popular auction and raffle, donations and Perennial Partnerships secured on the night. In addition to launching fundraising activity for the year ahead, the evening was also a chance to celebrate the successes of 2016. This year’s GCA Conference began with a welcome from chariman Julian Winfield, with the first seminar of the day led by John Ashley, who outlined the hard work and tremendous support received from the industry for Greenfingers and Garden Re-Leaf day in 2016; with the former raising an incredible over £430,000 in total, and the latter over £140,000.
