Flemish pavilion confirmed for Glee 2017


Keeping plants at the heart of the show, the organisers of Glee – Ascential Events – is pleased to announce that the 2017 exhibition will be home to its very first Flemish growers pavilion, thanks to the recent confirmation that VLAM, Flanders’ Agricultural Marketing Board, will be joining this year’s show. Belgium ranks on the fifth place as European exporter of ornamental plant products, after the Netherlands, Denmark, Italy and France. Retailers visited two nurseries in Hereford yesterday (Wednesday, March 8, 2017) to attend their PlantFest and to see new product developments for the coming year. Squires garden centre in Chertsey officially opens


Squire’s chairman, deputy chairman and the Mayor of Runnymede Councillor Alan Alderson officially opened the new Squire’s Garden Centre in Chertsey on Wednesday March 1. A plaque was unveiled on a 300-year old olive tree, which had been planted by Chairman Colin Squire to commemorate the opening of the new centre. The Giftware Association (GA) will be holding a Meet The Buyer’ day with a team from The Tillington Group of Garden Centres. The event will take place on May 11 at Brentwood in London. The Tillington Group of Garden Centres is a not-for-profit association of some of the best independent garden centre businesses in the UK that co-operate in buying and marketing.
