On Monday 15 January, Tiptree based Perrywood presented cheques totalling a value of over £14,000 to its chosen charities at the garden centre: Mid and North Essex Mind, Marie Curie and Greenfingers. Throughout 2017, Perrywood’s staff and customers raised a total of £14,334.73 for the three charities. This total was presented to the charity representatives Jenny MacPherson and Stephanie Mills of Mid and North Essex Mind, Val Kruse and Irvine Turner of Marie Curie and Mandy Rooke of Greenfingers. The Willesborough Wyevale site, just off the A20 opposite the Pilgrims Hospice in Ashford, will shut on Sunday. Kind-hearted customers have donated more than £1,000 at Dunbar Garden Centre to help donkeys. Visitors to the garden centre handed over £1,252.50 over the festive period, with the money going towards The Scottish Borders Donkey Sanctuary.
