£1m Dorset garden centre restaurant draws closer to completion

Work is well underway at a Dorset garden centre where a £1 million botanical-style restaurant is a few months away from completion. Malcolm Scott Consultants prepared detailed plans for the structure at Groves Garden Centre in Bridport, ensuring that it boasted an eye-catching design while remaining in-keeping with the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty it is located in. The restaurant is being constructed by Smiemens Projecten of Holland according to detailed drawings prepared by MSC’s architectural technologist Alexandra Ginés Heiwegen. Plans to refurbish a Haskins garden centre have been given the go-ahead despite fears over the effect on green belt land. An application was made for the Haskins Snowhill Plant and Garden Centre in Copthorne to demolish existing buildings, erect new buildings and enlarge the car park. An additional 100 car parking spaces are proposed in place of the existing dwelling at Oakleigh House to the north while plans for new access to the site from Newchapel Road were also submitted. Wyevale upgrades EPOS with Oracle


Oracle has announced that it has won the deal upgrade the Wyevale Garden centre EPOS systems. The deal is allegedly worth about £7.5 million. It will see the MICROS system Retail J replaced by Oracle Retail Xstore Point-of-Service, the latest MICROS hardware and Oracle Retail Customer Engagement. Oracle Retail consulting will complete the work. It is part of a major transformation project that was started by the new leadership in 2014.
