Alyson Hayward takes new role at Wyevale

Alyson Hayward is to become Wyevale’s horticultural quality manager

Her role will be to ensure the group’s plant quality is second to none. She currently manages Moreton Park garden centre that was bought by the country’s largest garden centre group in September. Hayward has a long history with Wyevale, managing Woodlands garden centre when the company was run by Brian Evans and Bob Hewitt. Then she was responsible for inducting Bridgemere into Jim Hodkinson’s Wyevale.

In the Nicholas Marshall era, when the company changed its name to The Garden Centre Group she had the responsibility, as a regional manager, for running the nurseries and the larger garden centres. She left after a disagreement with Marshall.  Dan Zinner, the current trading director said, “Alyson’s wealth of experience in achieving exceptional horticultural standards and quality will be an asset as we continue to place the quality of plant products at the core of the company.”
