Barton Grange Garden Centre has won the highly prestigious Destination Garden Centre of the Year Award from the GCA for the fourth year in a row.
No other UK garden centre has ever won this award for four consecutive years. The award confirms the Preston-based, family-run business as the best large garden centre in the UK.
The announcement was made at the annual GCA conference at Carden Park near Chester on Tuesday 27th January.
The Garden Centre was judged and marked by the GCA on everything from its car park and plant area to restaurants and toilets. Judges looked at the customer service, staff, product range, quality of produce, merchandising, creativity of displays and more.
“It’s quite overwhelming to win this again,” said Guy Topping, MD of the company at the awards ceremony. “We have a wonderful team here, who do a brilliant job making the Garden Centre what it is. Tonight we have achieved a record breaking win and I am so proud of all the people who have helped make this possible.
“This is also a great result for Preston and for Lancashire because almost all our team are local people.”
Barton Grange Garden Centre at Brock opened in March 2008, having moved from its old premises next to the Barton Grange Hotel in Barton. It has a covered outdoor area to enable all-weather plant shopping, two restaurants and a Farm Shop. In 2009, it opened the Cook Shop which has also picked up a number of awards since then.
