Flavours to savour as Webbs celebrates eating outdoors

Get ready for summer in style at a special day to celebrate al fresco living at Webbs, Wychbold on Saturday, 14th May. The award-winning garden centre is inviting visitors to join them for a bumper day of international tasting and sampling, cooking demonstrations, local craft beer and expert barbecuing.

On the day a wide variety of foods will be cooked and available to sample. Demonstration chefs will use new and traditional outdoor cooking methods to create pizzas, authentic curry, smoked salmon and much more. There will also be barbecuing on versatile Kadai fire bowls – a style of cooking which has been used for centuries across western India and the bowls are proving a real hit so far in 2016. Visitors can also take a tipple from the Sadler’s Brewery beer bus, the Black Country Belle, or a range of locally produced cordials.

For those who like to tempt their taste buds with sweeter flavours there will be marshmallow toasting on chimineas too.

Webbs Chairman Ed Webb said, “We’re really looking forward to welcoming people to come and join us to celebrate al fresco living and to get ready for a great British summer of relaxing in their gardens.”

He added, “This event is inspired by the passion in the UK for living outside and is a great chance to get tips, tricks and advice from our experts. We all wait patiently for warm summer days and when they arrive the whole nation moves outdoors. Whether it’s dining outdoors with friends, barbecue parties with the kids or just relaxing with a glass of wine after a hard day’s work, outdoor living gives us a zest for life!”

The free event runs from 10am – 5pm.
