Haskins in bid to break record for charity

Haskins Garden Centre at West End Southampton is urging retailers and customers to join in with their record-breaking attempt for a local hospice.

The centre is asking people to attend on the afternoon of Sunday May 10, wearing, or with someone wearing a wedding dress.

It is all part of a challenge to beat the current record of the most people wearing wedding dresses in one place.

The local Countess of Mountbatten Hospice hopes to break the record of 750 bridal dress wearers.

Last year’s attempt fell short with just 160 being counted.

“Anyone, of any age, male or female, can count towards the record providing they are in a wedding dress complete with veil or head dress.

Haskins general manager Peter Callaway, said: “Last year we were delighted to be joined by “brides” wearing traditional dresses from many cultures.”
