Lubera has announced an extensive selection of fruit that the company is selling into garden centres in time for Easter. These include its ‘world famous’ Redlove apple trees, as well as other varieties of tree and soft fruits plants.
A company spokesperson said: “Lubera specialise in fruit varieties that are specifically bred by them for the now-growing trend in container and small space growing concepts. These include cherries, peaches, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and even edible dahlias and tiger nuts.
“Our basic breeding goals are always the same. We are looking for fruit-bearing plants that are easier to cultivate and more resistant, with better-tasting fruit.
“Lubera is first and foremost a production nursery. We are convinced that a plant business loses its soul when there is no production involved. Real gardeners must have dirt on their hands. Only do they then really know what they are talking about and what they sell.”
