Stewarts Garden Centres have raised over £13,000 for Cancer Research UK.
Cancer Research UK was chosen as the local charity for Stewarts Christchurch and Stewarts Broomhill, and the centres raised an impressive total of £13,243.89. Fundraising events were held throughout the year including donations for the very popular reindeer badges and collection boxes at the tills and coffee shop. Volunteers from the local fundraising group of Cancer Research UK were delighted to be able to take part in most of the events
Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading charity dedicated to saving lives through research. Their research is entirely funded by the public as it receives no government funding. It has played a major part over the last 40 years in doubling the chance of people surviving cancer.
Local representative Vicky Mason commented “We are absolutely thrilled to receive this generous donation and we are so grateful for the support from all the Stewarts staff and customers over the last year. ”
Stewarts chosen charity for 2015 is Marie Curie Cancer Care. Fundraising events will be planned throughout the year.
